Describe what is a person’s ‘conscience’.

Answer: A person’s conscience is like an ability of concluding whether an action of his/her was right or wrong. If the action goes against his moral values and beliefs, a person will have a sense of guilt and remorse. It is compared to the metaphor “the voice within”.

2) Watch the following clip:

Religion can stop people form doing things which are sins and conscience is with emotions and you think of something you should or should not do and so you take action based on good action.

1.) Which countries have banned the Internet?

Answer: China & Burma

2.) Describe what the following image is about? (Provide TWO websites to support your findings)

Banned

Answer: This image is about the banning of youtube/internet in Australia.

3.) Provide evidence of at least FIVE sources (Websites, newspapers, blogs, videos etc.) that discuss the reasons why these countries have taken such a drastic approach.

Answer:

http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/schools-ban-youtube-sites-in-cyberbully-fight/2007/03/01/1172338796092.html, http://advocacy.globalvoicesonline.org/?p=102, http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/03/12/turkey_youtube_unbanned/ http://mashable.com/2007/05/30/youtube-bans/

4.) Discuss how you would feel if the Australian government banned the Internet. What privileges would you lose? (2 Paragraphs)

Answer: If the Australian government banned the internet I would be devastated. I would not be able to play any games. Life  would be boring and I would not be able to chat to my friends online. If the Australian government banned the internet, most people will have almost nothing to do. Companies that run using the internet will become bankrupt, e.g. eBay. Banks will be affected most of all because a lot of people do their banking online. Once the internet is banned the banks will be full and it will be hard to withdraw or deposit any money.

If the government banned the internet it would be harder for students to do their homework. It would be harder for someone to contact someone that lives in another country because they would not be able to send any e-mails. The government will be in control of the people of the country.

Social Studies 2: Journal Entry 1

    Journal:

    1. How will you organise your multimedia sales pitch? List ideas, think about how the entry document was presented.

    Answer:

A ‘Sales Pitch’ is a presentation which you use to sell your information to an audience.  The presentation proves to the audience that what you have done or are doing is better than any other.

‘Multimedia’ is the combination of several forms of media; sound, video, graphics.

Therefore a ‘multimedia sales pitch’ would be the use of several forms of media to present information to an audience.
