Answer the following questions on your blog:

1.) Give a brief description of who the Dalai Lama is? (Include resources to support)

Answer: The Dalai Lama is the spirtual leader of the Tebitan people who are situtated all over the world. The Tebitan people are people indigenous to Tibet and surrounding areas stretching from Central Asia in the West to Myanmar and China in the East.He was born on the 6th of July 1935, in a small village called Taktser in North Eastern Tibet in a small town of Taktser. The actions of the Dalai Lama in regard to the riots in Tibet would be regarded as exemplary moral integrity. This because he is defensive and feels very strong about Tibet and wants to protect it. No matter how bad the war is.

2.) Evaluate how the actions of the Dalai Lama in regard to the riots in Tibet would be regarded as exemplary moral integrity.

Answer: Lhamo was recognised to be the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama at the age of two. A group of Tibetans seeking out to find the new Dalai Lama travelled to the village of Takster because of a vision recieved by one of the regents searching for the Dalai Lama. Lhamo recognised all the articles of the previous Dalai Lama and thought them to be his posessions.

What is an Informed Conscience?

In order to make a decision doctor’s access a wide range of medical knowledge and patient history in order to diagnose a problem and treatment. The same principle can be applied to making moral decisions. We must be well informed regarding all the facts of the situation, moral values, virtues and laws in order to make our final decision. Therefore, an informed catholic conscience is an educated conscience that knows in any given situation.

Read the following scenario and answer the questions:

Roger Smith, a quite competent swimmer, is out for a leisurely stroll. During the course of his walk he passes by a deserted pier from which a teenage boy who apparently cannot swim has fallen into the water. The boy is screaming for help. Smith recognizes that there is absolutely no danger to himself if he jumps in to save the boy; he could easily succeed if he tried. Nevertheless, he chooses to ignore the boy’s cries. The water is cold and he is afraid of catching a cold — he doesn’t want to get his good clothes wet either. “Why should I inconvenience myself for this kid,” Smith says to himself, and passes on.

1.) There are always TWO sides to a conscience. What would Roger’s conscience be telling him?

Answer:Rogers conscience is probably saying “just keep on walking he is nothing to worry about”

2.) Think of an example of Jesus’ teaching and explain how his teachings can help us to make an appropriate decision?

Answer: Jesus would probably tell us to save the boy from drowning.

Beatitudes-

1 ) How blessed are the poor in spirit; the kingdom of God is theirs.
2 ) Blessed are the gentle; they shall have the earth as their inheritance.
3 ) Blessed are those who mourn; they shall be comforted.
4 ) Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness; they shall have their fill.
5 ) Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.
6 ) Blessed are the pure of heart; for they shall see God.
7 ) Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called children of God.
8 )Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Beatitude Values-

1 ) Putting trust in God not things.
2 ) Humility in all we do; non-violence
3 ) Patient suffering and enduring hardships reap their reward.
4 ) Getting involved, helping the downtrodden; working for the equality of people.
5 ) Mercy and forgiveness.
6 ) Loving God with one’s whole heart, whole mind, whole soul.
7 ) Peacemaking; loving those who are hard to love.
8 ) Being willing to suffer for the right thing even if abused verbally or physically; accepting the consequences of living a good life.

Beatitudes for today-

1 ) Blessed are you in your poverty; you are not shut in the false world of convention, riches, and human security.
2 ) Blessed are you because you are gentle; you refuse violence and aggressiveness.
3 ) Blessed are you because you cry for shall you be helped.
4 ) Blessed are you because you hunger and thirst for justice; your heart beats in the rhythm of the heart of Jesus.
5 ) Blessed are you because you are merciful; you attach your heart to misery; you will receive mercy.
6 ) Blessed are you because your heart is pure; you do not accept compromises.
7 ) Blessed are you because at all times and at every moment you want to be an instrument of peace; seeking reconciliation above all things.
8 ) Blessed are you because you have allowed your own conscience to develop; you have accepted persecution; you have not been afraid to proclaim the truth.

Love God- What does a relationship with God require me to do?

Answer: Being in a relationshiop with God, requires me to love him and folow his ways.

Love self and Neighbour- What is loving my neighbour and loving myself require me to do?

Answer: It requires me to be kind to my neighbour and always be knid to myself.

Answer: Interactive Tv is a type of Tv that you can intercat with. It involves you getting your favourite programs of the internet.

2.) Explain the reasons why interactive TV is now called TV 2.0.

Answer: Tv 2.0 is called Tv 2.0 because it is the new genration of Tv. It is the sencond type of Tv, so Tv was the first type of Tv and Tv 2.0 is the second type of Tv.
3.) Outline the positives and negatives of implementing interactive TV.

Answer: The negatives are that some people may not know how to use it The positives are that it is fun to use and it

4.) Apple released recently Apple TV – Take 2. Describe the reasons why it needed to be changed.

Answer: So updates could be made to it and so that it could be better to use and control for the viewer to use when they want.

1.) Explain the purpose of using ‘youtube’ as a source of digital media advertising?

Answer: youtube is free and it can be accessed worldwide so companies can upload their advertisements onto youtube and save a lot of money

2.) Discuss how collaborative media sites such as youtube, myspace and bebo have changed the current boundaries of media such as news, advertising ect.

Answer: sites have changed the boundaries of advertising as you can watch anything from any part of the world as long as you have access to the internet. You can also watch the news online, TV shows and other things. This gives the audience being much more in contact with digital media

1) Define the term ‘moral integrity’

Answer: Moral integrity is a complex and subtle ethical notion. As theologian Stanley Hauerwas has argued, it is central to all the other virtues but more fundamental than any single virtue. The root of the term integrity is wholeness. Moral wholeness rather than rigidity best captures the idea of moral integrity. For example, a person might discover that some long-held ethical belief, attitude or rule of conduct was mistaken because the person came to see that it was incompatible with other, more fundamental ethical commitments.
2) Describe why Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity.

Answer: Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity because of his selfless actions and being brave. He did not look at the fact that he was throwing away his life for a person he did not know, instead he saw the fact that he was doing an hounarable duty by saving a life. Also another reason to justify Maxmillian’s high level of moral integrity is that there are very few people in this world who will sacrifice their life to save another person who they don’t know.

3) Outline Maximillians ethical actions/principles that he demonstrated in Auschwitz.

Answer: Maximillian was a priest. He fulfilled his duty as a priest to help other people, even though he risked his life.

4) Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer. i.e. Catholic teachings.
